MetaTrader Trading & Functional FAQ

This guide explains how to perform trading operations, manage orders, and use automated trading systems (EAs) on the MetaTrader platform.

01|Account and Platform Integration

You can manage your funds (deposits, withdrawals, and access to market analysis) through the official DecodeFX website.

However, trading and position monitoring must be done within the MetaTrader client.

The web platform cannot directly execute MetaTrader account trades.

02|Order Execution Mode

DecodeFX adopts the Market Execution mode.

Orders are executed at the best available market price at the time of submission.

During periods of high volatility, slippage may occur; however, DecodeFX remains committed to providing optimal liquidity and trade execution.

03|Order Types Overview

MetaTrader supports multiple order types to suit different trading strategies:

  • Market Order: Executes immediately at the current market price.
  • Limit Order: Executes when the market reaches a specified or better price.
  • Stop Order: Triggers a market order when the set price level is reached.
  • Stop Limit Order: Combines features of stop and limit orders for more precise entries.

Note: Setting stop-loss or limit orders does not fully eliminate market risk.

04|Expert Advisors (EAs)

What are Expert Advisors (EAs)?

Expert Advisors (EAs) are automated trading programs written in the MQL (MetaQuotes Language) scripting language.

EAs can automatically execute trades based on your predefined strategy, without manual intervention.

Advantages of EAs:

• 24/7 continuous market monitoring

• Elimination of emotional trading

• Rapid response to market movements

• Strict adherence to trading discipline

Important Notice:

EAs run locally on your computer. If your computer shuts down or disconnects from the server, the EA will stop running.

DecodeFX welcomes you to use EAs for trading. However, please note that EAs are third-party software.

You are responsible for ensuring full compatibility and performance testing before use.

DecodeFX shall not be held responsible for any trade instructions or results generated by EAs.

05|Generating Account Reports

On the MetaTrader platform:

Open the “Terminal” window → “Account History” → right-click to select the desired period → then right-click again and choose “Save as Report.”

06|Setting Price Alerts

Open the “Terminal” window → “Alerts” → right-click and select “Create.”

Then configure the trading symbol, trigger condition (e.g., Bid > specific price), and alert method (sound or pop-up).

07|Differences Between Quote and Chart Prices

The Market Watch window displays Bid (buy) and Ask (sell) prices.

Charts display Bid prices by default; the difference between them is the spread.

You can enable “Show Ask Line” in chart settings to view both prices simultaneously.
